Orthopedic Massage

Orthopedic massage therapy focuses on rehabilitation of the muskuloskeletal system rather than relaxation massage techniques.

Orthopedic massage therapy is a particular kind of massage therapy, focused on soft-tissue injury rehabilitation. Goals for an orthopedic massage session typically include decreasing pain, increasing range of motion, and preparing the body to return to normal daily routines and active hobbies. Individuals who have experienced surgery, acute or previous injury, motor vehicle accident, postural dysfunction, or chronic muscle pain could benefit from orthopedic massage.

Your massage therapy session will begin with an assessment with your massage therapist. The therapist will then use a variety of techniques to address issues in the targeted area(s).
Treatment may also include the following: hydrotherapy, deep tissue massage, myofascial cupping, and joint mobilization; this will usually be followed by recommendations for home-care.
