What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an ancient tradition of healing with its own methods of assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. Using the application of very fine steel needles in the skin and muscles, the body’s own recovery methods and pathways are used to stimulate the natural healing process. Through the use and manipulation of the meridian systems and over 365 very specific acupuncture points in the body; issues of organs, tissues, muscles, and nerves can be influenced. Issues commonly assisted with are: sleep, stress, anxiety, bowel and digestive problems, muscle and tendon aches and pains, menstrual and pregnancy complications, and autoimmune complications. If the body has a natural pathway to help alleviate an issue, acupuncture can often improve and strengthen those pathways.
